Alternative Provision
UpliftEd offers bespoke programmes of alternative provision for students with a focus on developing strategies to support positive mental wellbeing and resillience. Sessions can be supported by either Finn, our qualified therapy dog, or by our guinea pigs. The sessions are student focussed and developed with the interests of the student in mind so no two programmes are the same. Where appropriate we can also offer short course ASDAN awards and the Bronze Arts Award. Sessions are 1 hour each and booked in blocks of 5 weeks.
Who we work with:
Predominantly our work is aimed at:
- Students with poor attendance
- Students at risk of exclusion
- Students suffering mental health conditions including school anxiety
- Students suffering with challenging life circumstances
- Students with SEMH difficulties
We are, however, happy to discuss any young person on a case by case basis where they don’t fit into the categories above.
Expected outcomes for Students:
All expected outcomes will be bespoke to the young person and agreed with the school at the point of referral/commencement of provision.
General expected outcomes include:
- Improvement in self-confidence and resilience including positive changes in attitude to learning and motivation
- Increased attendance to school
- Successful completion of certificates/awards (Short Course ASDAN/Bronze Arts Awards)
- Improved behaviour
- Development of personal and social skills
